Need a dirty idea for your next date night? Come get muddy at the Clay Studio of Missoula with our Pottery Date Night specials! This is a fun, creative way to spend an evening - a unique date you and your partner will never forget! Learn to throw pottery on the wheel or get some practice with your partner by your side! This experience is designed for couples, but it can also be a great opportunity to introduce pottery to a best friend or relative with you by their side.

This date night makes a great teaser if you or your partner have ever thought about taking a pottery class, but aren't sure you'd like to commit to a 10-week session (or if you just want a messy, fun project to do together!) You'll learn the basics with your partner by your side! We'll provide the clay, instruction, and assistance, and maybe even some cheesy romantic music to help make the night special! Participants 21 years of age or older are welcome to bring wine or beer to share with their partner!
As a pair, you get to pick a total of 3-4 favorite pots of the night to keep. You'll get a bulletin at the email you provide when they're ready to pick up! Pots can typically be fired by about a month after the workshop date. Participants will receive a pickup bulletin via their registration email when work is ready. If you have not received anything by 6 weeks after the workshop, you are welcome to check in via email at info@theclaystudioofmissoula.org. We will send you a status update as quickly as possible. Please refrain from calling the studio about pickup, if possible, email can be more quickly addressed by any member of our team once progress is checked. You can also check our studio blog (under the "more" tab on the website) to see a weekly report of what is ready to pick up!
Each purchase includes:
- Reservation for 2 people
- Two-hour date night class
- Glazing and firing of up to 4 pots per pair (or two pots per person) with special colored glaze!

Projects must dry completely and are fired slowly and carefully once we fill a kiln. This means firing times can vary quite a bit. We will provide participants with a pick-up slip with a QR to our Pick-up web page. Parents can check here periodically to see if projects have been completed. Usually, projects are ready after about 4 weeks, so we recommend beginning to check for your projects about a month after the session. The Pick-up page typically updates weekly around mid-week.
Once projects have been fired, they're usually kept in the classroom in the main building for 3 months after they are finished to allow ample time for pickup. Sometimes things are kept longer if space is available, but we can only guarantee 3 months.
