For Adults (16+)

CHECK OUR PROJECT PICK-UP PAGE TO CHECK THE STATUS OF FIRING. USUALLY PROJECTS ARE FIRED IN ABOUT ONE MONTH, MORE DETAILS BELOW.

Fee includes instruction, clay, plus glazing and firing of 3 completed works with clear glaze.

Curious about trying out the potter’s wheel? This one-day session is an introduction to centering clay and throwing a basic cylindrical form. Up to three completed works will be fired with a clear glaze by The Clay Studio of Missoula, and will be yours to keep. Please allow approximately one month for drying and firing of finished work.

Participants can check the status of their pottery/projects on our project pick-up web page. If you have not seen your class pop up after 6 weeks post-session, you are welcome to check in via email at info@theclaystudioofmissoula.org. We will send you a status update as quickly as possible. Please refrain from calling the studio about pickup, if possible: email can be more quickly addressed by any member of our team once progress is checked. The project pick-up page usually updates weekly around mid-week. You should begin to check for your work roughly 4 weeks after the session. Don't worry if you don't see it right away once it's posted, works are kept on hand for 3 months after their firing date to provide ample pick-up time.

This class is for students with no or very limited wheel experience.

Ages 16 and over are welcome to sign up for these special one-day sessions.

Maximum 9 students per session.

You may enroll for more than one session per season if you'd like to get more practice!

9/27 | Beginning Pottery One-Day Session | Friday Evening | 6-8PM

$50.00Price
  • Pots must dry completely and are fired slowly and carefully once we fill a kiln. This means firing times can vary quite a bit. We will provide participants with a pick-up slip with a QR to our Pick-up web page (also available under the "Education" tab on our website). Guests can check here periodically to see if projects have been completed. Usually, projects are ready after about 4 weeks, so we recommend beginning to check for them about a month after the session. The Pick-up page typically updates weekly around mid-week.

Once projects have been fired, they're usually kept in the classroom for 3 months after they are finished to allow ample time for pickup. Sometimes things are kept longer if space is available, but we can only guarantee 3 months.
